Tobin Yelland Photography in big brother book - shit

I started working for Big Brother in 1992. It was really refreshing to be able to do articles with crazy writing and nudity and just anything you wanted to put in would go in the magazine. This was a much different magazine than the other skate mags at the time. My favorite article was how to make a fake ID with Earl Parker. It was my favorite magazine to work for and I love this new book that has a piece of every issue. Check it out here

Thanks Mark Whitley for including me in Leica blog post

Mark Whitley did and interview with me for the the Leica blog. Below is a sample. Here is the rest of the interview.

The majority of the skating I shot was in the street and we would be trying to get the perfect photo quickly before being kicked out. I had to be fast and make sure I got the shot, so I set up my camera and lights as simply as possible to increase the chances of getting my shot. Skateboarding photography has influenced me to be ready and be quick and I think that’s one of the reasons I like my M6 — it’s so simple and fast.
